GigTag

GigTag for djs

Requests in a queue, not shouted over the decks.

Every DJ knows the person leaning over the booth with a phone held out. A GigTag on the booth takes those requests into a queue you read when you choose, lets a guest add a tip, and sends the whole room to your page for the next night. Play alongside a saxophonist or other live instrumentalist? That works too.

  • Open requests or your own library
  • Tips with a request
  • Your residencies on one page

The problem

The booth is the busiest table in the room

A DJ takes requests all night, and each one costs a few seconds of attention at the worst moment. It is also information you want: what the room is asking for tells you where to take it.

You do not want to lose that, and you do not want a wall of guests either. You want the requests to arrive somewhere you can read them, in your own time, and to be able to say yes to the right ones without a conversation.

What GigTag does

One code, four jobs done for you

  1. Pro

Open requests, or a list you control

Choose open requests and a guest types any track. Choose your list and they pick from what you will play. You can switch between the two on the night.

  2. Pro

    A queue on your phone

Requests land in a live queue, with who asked and whether they added a tip. Mark one played and it clears. You read it between mixes, not during.

  3. Pro

Tips that come with the request

A guest can add a tip to a request, or leave one on its own, paid by card or Apple Pay into your own account. You choose whether requests offer a tip at all.

  4. Free

    Every residency in one place

Friday at the rooftop, Saturday at the beach club, Sunday brunch, or a weekly club night you run yourself. One page lists them all, and a guest can add next week to their calendar before they leave.

A night with GigTag

A Friday set from ten until two

The tag sits on the booth stand. At 11 you open requests, and within the hour the queue has fifteen titles. Four are the same song. You play it once and mark them all.

A birthday table sends a request with a tip, and you give them a shout from the mic. By 1am three guests have followed your page, and one has used the enquiry form to ask about a private party in January.

Set up

Ready before your next gig

  1. 1

Design a tag in the club's colours or your own, and put it where guests can scan without leaning in.

  2. 2

Choose your request mode: open for a party, your list for a night you want to steer.

  3. 3

Add every weekly night as a residency, so the page always shows your next set.

  4. 4

Turn on tips and connect Ziina or Stripe if you want them.

Free: your page, links, gigs and residencies, and a booking form. Pro adds song requests, tips, invoices and more than one act. Tips go straight into your own Ziina or Stripe account, and GigTag takes 0%.

Questions

GigTag for djs: your questions

Is GigTag a request app that works with Serato or Rekordbox?

No. It does not connect to your DJ software or library. It is a page and a queue on your phone, so it works with whatever you play on.

Can I stop requests for a while?

Yes. Requests have an on and off switch, and you can change between open requests and your own list whenever you like.

Can I use it as a wedding or event DJ?

Yes. A private event uses the same tag, and wedding DJs have a page of their own. The booking enquiry form collects the date, place and guest count, and Pro adds invoices you send from your own design.

Do guests have to sign up?

No. They scan, type or choose a song, and send it. Nothing to install and no account.
