Terms of use
The terms for using GigTag
Last updated 21 October 2026.
The short version
- GigTag is run by Oasis Digital LLC in Sharjah. These terms are the agreement between you and us. How we handle personal data is in the privacy notice.
- Fans never need an account. Requests are suggestions: the performer decides what to play, nothing is ranked and nobody can pay to move up. Booking enquiries go to the act, not to us.
- Tips go straight to the performer, through Ziina in the UAE or the performer’s own Stripe account elsewhere. GigTag is not a party to the payment and takes nothing from it. Tipping is available only where the act has it switched on.
- Performers keep what they put on their page and give us permission to show it. Publishing means confirming you have the right to share it and agreeing to the content terms below.
- Pro is a subscription paid through Stripe, monthly or yearly. Prices in UAE dirhams include 5% UAE VAT. It renews until you cancel, and after you cancel it runs to the end of the period you paid for. The apps are free and sell nothing.
- Your code is never given to anyone else, and renaming your act never breaks it. The code is stable for as long as the service runs.
- Nothing here takes away a right you have under consumer law, in the UAE or in the country you live in, or under any other law that cannot be set aside by contract.
Who we are
GigTag is run by Oasis Digital LLC, Sharjah Media City, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (“we”, “us”). These terms apply when you use gig-tag.com, the act pages and QR codes it serves, and the GigTag apps for iPhone and Android. To reach us, use the contact form.
Agreeing to these terms
You agree to these terms when you create an account, on the website or in an app. Performers also agree to the content terms each time they publish an act’s page, by ticking the box before publishing; we record when, and which version. If you use an act’s page as a fan, without an account, the parts of these terms about fans and acceptable use apply to you.
Ticking a box or tapping a button to agree is an electronic agreement, and it binds you as a signature would.
Who can use GigTag
You must be 18 or over to have an account. Anyone may look at a public act page. If you are under 18, ask a parent or guardian before you tip or send a booking enquiry; if you are under 13, please do not type your name or a message into a request or a form.
You may not use GigTag where the law forbids you to, or if we have closed an account of yours before for breaking these terms.
Your account
- You sign up with an email address and password, or with Google or Apple, on the website or in an app. You need to confirm your email address before you can publish a page.
- Give accurate details and keep them up to date. An account is for one person: bandmates each have their own, and nobody needs to share a password.
- Keep your password safe. You are responsible for what is done with your account, unless it happened because of something we got wrong. If you think someone else has got in, change your password and tell us.
- For some steps, such as deleting an act, we may ask you to sign in again first.
- We send you the service emails listed in the privacy notice, to the address on your account. We do not send marketing email.
Acts, members and roles
An act is a solo performer, a duo or a band. Each act has one public page and its own QR codes. Each person in an act has a role.
- Owner. The person who created the act. Each act has exactly one owner at a time. The owner can do everything: edit the page, invite and remove members, choose the plan, connect the Ziina or Stripe account that receives tips, and delete the act. Ownership can be handed to another member, who has to accept it.
- Editor. Can change the page, songs and gigs, run live sessions and see the act’s counts. Sees tips only if the owner allows it.
- Performer. Can run live sessions, look after the song list and see requests.
Each person has one profile (a name, photo, bio and links) that they edit themselves and that appears in every duo or band they play in. A member can leave an act at any time, and their profile stays theirs.
The owner is responsible for the act as a whole: its page, who has access to it, its plan and the Ziina or Stripe account that receives its tips. Everyone is responsible for what they add themselves.
Content terms for performers
When you publish an act’s page, on the website or in the app, you tick a box to confirm that you have the right to share what is on the page and that you agree to the content terms. These are those terms. They cover everything on the page for as long as it is published, including anything you or anyone else in the act adds later.
What you confirm
- Everything on the page is yours, or you have permission to use it: the act’s name, photos, banner and logo, the biography and other text, the links, any players you add, the gigs and the song list.
- Everyone named or pictured on the page, including members and guest players without an account, has agreed to appear there, and anyone whose photo, artwork or writing you use has given permission.
- The act’s name is yours to use, and the page does not pretend to be someone else.
- The gigs you list are real, and their details are right as far as you know.
- Your links go where they say they go, and nowhere harmful.
- Song requests are suggestions and tipping is voluntary, and your page does not say otherwise.
What stays yours, and what you let us do with it
You keep every right you have in your content. So that we can run GigTag, you give Oasis Digital LLC permission, free of charge, worldwide and not exclusively, to store, copy, resize, crop, re-encode, display and send it: on your public page and members’ pages, in the dashboard and the apps, in the preview that appears when someone shares your page and in search results, and on anything we print for you, such as a tag carrying your logo or text. The companies that run parts of GigTag for us may do the same, only for that purpose.
We do not use your content to advertise GigTag without asking you first. The permission ends when you remove the content or delete the act, apart from copies that stay for a short time in backups and caches, copies others have already made of a public page (search engines, for example), which we do not control, and records the law requires us to keep.
What a page must not contain
- anything unlawful in the United Arab Emirates, or in the place the page is aimed at;
- anything that infringes someone else’s copyright, trade mark, likeness or privacy;
- hateful, threatening, violent, sexually explicit or discriminatory material, or anything that exploits children;
- impersonation of another act, person, brand or venue;
- misleading requests for tips, such as presenting them as a charitable donation or collecting them for someone who is not performing;
- other people’s personal details without their permission;
- malware, or links to phishing, scams or other unlawful sites.
Songs, performances and venues
Your song list holds titles and original artists, for fans to request from. Do not upload lyrics, sheet music or recordings. Listing a song, showing a player or putting up a tag does not give you permission to perform anything in public or anywhere in particular: performance licences, a venue’s permission to place your tags, and any permit you need to perform are yours to arrange.
Fans’ messages and details
Requests, messages and booking enquiries reach you from fans. Use a fan’s details only to deal with what they sent you, for example to reply to an enquiry, and do not add anyone to a mailing list without their permission. For abuse, use the tools to hide a message and block its sender.
What we can do about a page
We do not approve pages before they go live. If a page breaks these content terms, we can hide or remove content, take down a link, switch off requests or tips, or take the page offline, as described under Reports and removal and Suspending or closing accounts.
If you are a fan
You do not need an account. Scanning a tag opens the act’s page, where you can do whatever that act has switched on.
Song requests
Requests are suggestions: the performer decides what to play and may not be able to play every song. Requests are never ranked in public, and nobody can pay to move one up. There is a limit on how many you can send. Your name and message, if you add them, are seen only by the act. Performers can hide a message and block a session that is abusing them. You can cancel your own request while it is waiting.
Tips
A tip is a voluntary thank-you, paid to the performer through Ziina or Stripe. How it works, and how to ask for one back, is under Tips.
Booking enquiries
An enquiry goes to the act, who replies to you by email. It is not a booking and does not confirm availability or a price. Any booking is agreed between you and the act; GigTag is not part of it and does not handle its payment.
Gigs and links
Gigs, venues and links on a page are posted by the act. Check with the venue before you travel; its own rules on entry and age apply. Links take you to other sites, which have their own terms.
Acceptable use
With an account or without one, do not use GigTag to:
- break the law, or help anyone else to;
- harass, threaten, abuse or discriminate against anyone, or send hateful or sexually explicit messages;
- pretend to be an act or a person you are not, or suggest a connection that does not exist;
- cover, copy or replace an act’s tag or code to send its fans somewhere else;
- defraud anyone, including with tips, stolen cards or fake enquiries;
- send spam, flood an act with requests or enquiries, or get around a block or a limit;
- collect other people’s details, or copy the service with automated tools (search engines indexing public pages excepted);
- probe, overload or break our security, or reach data that is not yours;
- upload malware, or link to phishing or scam sites.
Reports and removal
We do not check pages, messages or enquiries before they appear. We act on what we find and on what we are told.
How to report something
At the bottom of every act’s page is Report this profile: choose impersonation, offensive content, scam or suspicious tipping, copyright, or something else, and add details, and your email address if you would like a reply. You can also use the contact form. We review every report. We may tell the act what a report is about, but we do not pass on your contact details without your agreement. If someone is in danger, call the police first.
Your work, name or image
If something on GigTag uses your work, name or image without permission, report it as above: say what it is and where it is, and confirm that you own the rights or act for the person who does.
What we can do
Where we reasonably believe something breaks these terms or the law, or on a valid complaint, we can hide or remove content, take down a link or a code, switch off requests or tips for an act, block a session, or suspend a page or an account. Performers can hide messages and block sessions themselves, from the live screen. We may report unlawful activity to the authorities, and give them information when the law requires it.
Free and Pro
What each plan includes
Free costs nothing: a page, QR codes, gigs and residencies, links and a booking enquiry form, for one act you own. Pro adds song requests, tips (where they can be switched on, see below), invoices for bookings and as many acts as you want to own. One Pro subscription covers every act you own; the other members of your acts do not need one. Only an act’s owner can buy, change or cancel Pro.
Paying
Pro is paid monthly or yearly, by card, through Stripe’s checkout. Prices are in UAE dirhams for the UAE, including UAE VAT at 5%, in pounds for the UK and in US dollars elsewhere: the price you see is what you are charged, and a UAE receipt shows the VAT in it. There is no free trial. Pro cannot be bought in the apps. Your invoices are in Stripe’s billing portal.
Renewal
A subscription renews automatically at the end of each month or year, and Stripe charges the card on file, until you cancel. The Plan page of your dashboard shows when it renews. If we change the price of Pro, we tell you in the dashboard at least 30 days before the new price applies to you, and it applies only from a renewal after that, so you can cancel first.
Cancelling
The owner cancels from the Plan page of the dashboard, which opens Stripe’s billing portal; the card can be changed there too. Cancelling stops the next renewal. Pro stays on until the end of the period you have paid for, and then the account moves to Free.
The first 14 days, in the UK and the EU
If you live in the United Kingdom or the European Union, the law gives you 14 days from the day you subscribe to cancel without giving a reason. Pro starts as soon as you pay, because you ask for that at checkout. So if you cancel within those 14 days, we refund what you paid less the days you have already had Pro. To cancel this way, use the contact form or send us the form below, as well as cancelling on the Plan page. This right does not apply to a printed tag, which is made to your design (see Printed GigTags).
Model cancellation form
To Oasis Digital LLC (GigTag), Sharjah Media City, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, through gig-tag.com/contact:
I hereby give notice that I cancel my contract for the supply of the following service: GigTag Pro, ordered on [date]. Name: [your name]. Email address on the account: [your email]. Address: [your address]. Date: [today’s date]. Signature: [only if you send this on paper].
Switching between monthly and yearly
The owner can switch in the same billing portal, and the change applies straight away. What is left of the period you have already paid for is credited against the new plan; any credit left over pays towards your next invoices rather than going back to your card.
Refunds
Because you can cancel at any time and keep Pro to the end of the period, we do not refund the unused part of a month or year in which you cancel. We do refund:
- a payment taken by mistake, such as a charge after you cancelled, or a double charge;
- the unused part of a period, if we stop offering Pro, remove something Pro includes, or close your account or end your Pro when you have not broken these terms;
- if you live in the UK or the EU and cancel within 14 days of subscribing: what you paid, less the days you have already had Pro;
- anything else the law, in the UAE or where you live, entitles you to.
Refunds go back to the card you paid with, through Stripe.
If a payment fails
If a renewal payment fails, Pro stays on while Stripe tries the card again, and the Plan page asks you to update it. If the payment still cannot be taken, the subscription ends and the account moves to Free.
When Pro ends
- Your page, QR codes, printed tags, gigs, links, booking form and everything you have published stay as they are.
- Song requests and the tip button come off your pages. Tips already received stay in your Ziina or Stripe account.
- You can no longer send new invoices. Invoices you already sent stay in your account, and your clients can still pay them.
- Every act you already have stays, but you cannot create another beyond Free’s one.
- Nothing is deleted.
Pro given free
Sometimes we give Pro free: to one account as a gift, for a year or with no end date, or to everyone for a time. We never charge for Pro we gave. The Plan page shows when a gift ends; when it does, the account moves to Free unless you have subscribed. We can end a gift early, and if we do we tell you first, unless the account has broken these terms.
Tips
Tipping is available only where it is enabled: the act is on Pro, its owner has connected an account for tips and switched tips on, and we have tips switched on. In the UAE that account is a Ziina account, which needs an Emirates ID. Everywhere else it is the performer’s own Stripe account.
For fans
A tip is a voluntary thank-you for the performance. It does not buy a song, does not change any request, and is not a charitable donation. You pay on Ziina’s or Stripe’s payment page, by card or Apple Pay (and Google Pay with Stripe), straight into the performer’s own account. The payment is between you and the performer, processed by Ziina under Ziina’s terms or by Stripe under Stripe’s terms. GigTag is not a party to it: we never receive, hold or pass on the money, and we take nothing from it. Ziina’s or Stripe’s own fees apply, as they set them.
If you want a tip back, ask the act, or contact us and we will pass the request on. A refund is the act owner’s decision; when the owner agrees, it is refunded through Ziina or Stripe, whichever the tip was paid through. This does not affect any right you have with Ziina, Stripe or your card issuer.
For performers
- Connecting Ziina lets GigTag create tip payments into your Ziina account, and refund a tip, in whole or in part, when you ask us to. Connecting Stripe, through the GigTag Tips app on Stripe, lets us do the same in your Stripe account. Neither lets us move or withdraw your money.
- You can disconnect at any time. The tip button comes off your page straight away, and tips already received stay in your account.
- Your Ziina or Stripe account, its limits and fees, and any offer Ziina makes to performers who sign up through GigTag, are between you and Ziina or Stripe, on their terms.
- Each act’s tips go into the one account its owner connected. How a duo or band shares them is up to the act.
- Tips are your income, and any tax or reporting that applies to them is yours to deal with.
Your code and your link
Every act gets a QR code, and can have more than one: say, one for the mic stand and one for the tables. Each code is a random string tied to your act, not to the act’s name. This is how far our promise goes.
- Renaming the act or changing its link name does not break a code or an old link: both still lead to your page.
- A code is never given to another act, even after yours is deleted, and nor is a link name you have used.
- If your page is offline, suspended or deleted, or you switch a code off, the code leads to a page saying it is not available, never to someone else.
- Moving from Pro to Free does not switch a code off.
- The code is stable for as long as the service runs. That depends on us running GigTag and the gig-tag.com domain. If we ever decide to close GigTag, we will tell account holders at least 30 days in advance.
Whether a code scans also depends on its size, the print, the light, the angle and the phone. We do not promise that a code scans from any particular distance or with every phone.
Other services GigTag relies on
- Stripe processes payments for Pro and printed tags, and tips into a performer’s own Stripe account. We never see or store your card number. Stripe’s part is described in Stripe’s privacy policy.
- Ziina processes tips in the UAE, as described above, under Ziina’s terms.
- Google and Apple let you sign in, if you choose to. Your Google account or Apple ID stays under their terms.
- YouTube, Spotify, SoundCloud and other sites appear on act pages as players and links that acts add. They are run by others, under their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.
- Apple’s App Store and Google Play deliver the apps, as described below.
The companies that store or process data for us are listed in the privacy notice. We choose them with care, but we cannot answer for another company’s own service. If one fails in a way that affects you, tell us and we will help where we can.
The apps for iPhone and Android
The GigTag apps are for performers. They sign in to the same account, and these terms apply to them. The apps are free, have no in-app purchases and sell nothing. We may ask you to update an app to keep using it.
iPhone and iPad
The app is licensed to you by Oasis Digital LLC, not by Apple. Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to it, together with these terms. Apple is not responsible for the app or for GigTag, including their content, maintenance and support, and any claim about them is for us to deal with, not Apple.
Android
Downloading and updating the app is covered by the Google Play Terms of Service. Google is not responsible for the app or for GigTag.
Keeping GigTag running, and changing it
We work to keep GigTag available and to fix problems quickly, but it runs over the internet and on other companies’ systems, so we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. Live requests need a connection at both ends: venue Wi-Fi and mobile signal come and go, and a request, notification or email can arrive late or not at all. We sometimes take GigTag offline briefly for maintenance.
We keep improving GigTag, and may add, change or remove features. If we remove something Pro includes while you are paying for it, we tell you first, and you can cancel and have the unused part refunded.
Suspending or closing accounts
We may take down a page, a link or a code, switch off requests or tips for an act, or suspend or close an account, if we reasonably believe that:
- these terms, or the law, have been broken;
- it is needed to protect fans, performers, venues or GigTag, for example from impersonation, fraud or a scam; or
- the law, a court or an authority requires it.
We use the smallest step that deals with the problem, and most can be undone. Where we can, we tell the act’s owner what we did and why, and you can ask us to look at it again through the contact form. If we close an account that pays for Pro when it has not broken these terms, we refund the unused part of the subscription.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account yourself at any time: in the app, tap Delete my account; on the website, it is at the bottom of an act’s Settings. Before you do:
- If you pay for Pro, deleting your account cancels the subscription straight away, so no further payments are taken. The rest of a period already paid for is not refunded.
- Deleting your account deletes every act you own, with its page, songs, gigs, requests and enquiries. Members of those acts keep their own accounts but lose their place in the act, so if a duo or band should carry on, hand ownership to another member first.
- If one of your acts has taken tips, its financial records must be kept, so contact us and we will delete everything else.
A deleted act’s codes and link names are retired and never given to anyone else. You can also take a page offline, or delete a single act, without deleting your account. What we keep, and for how long, is in the privacy notice.
Our name and what we own
GigTag, its name and logo, the tag mark, the website, the apps, and their software, design and text belong to Oasis Digital LLC or to those who license them to us. These terms give you no right in them beyond using GigTag as it is meant to be used.
You may use the GigTag name, and the logo as it appears on the print files and tags we make, to tell people where to find you (“scan my GigTag”). Do not change the logo, use it for anything else, or suggest that we endorse you. Do not copy, resell or take apart the software, except where the law allows you to. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything.
What we are responsible for
What we promise
We provide GigTag with reasonable care and skill, and as it is described on our website and in these terms.
What we are not responsible for
- what performers do, including whether they play a requested song, turn up to a gig or answer an enquiry;
- anything agreed between a fan and an act, such as a booking and its price;
- what performers and fans post, which we do not check before it appears, though we act when we are told about it;
- the services, decisions and accounts of Ziina, Stripe, and the other companies and sites we link to or show;
- a venue’s rules, or whether a performer may perform there;
- delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as a failure of the internet, the power supply or a provider.
Limits
As far as the law allows: we are not liable for loss we could not reasonably have foreseen, or for lost income, bookings, tips or business opportunities; and our total liability to you for everything connected with GigTag is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or AED 500 if that is more.
What these terms never limit
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud, gross negligence or deliberate wrongdoing; your rights under consumer protection law, in the UAE or in the country you live in, including repair, replacement, refund or compensation for faulty goods and services, which a supplier cannot exclude or limit by contract; or anything else the law does not allow us to limit or exclude.
If your content leads to a claim
Performers are responsible for their pages. If someone makes a claim against Oasis Digital LLC because of content you published, or because you broke the content terms or the law in using GigTag, you agree to cover the reasonable losses, costs and legal fees that result, to the extent you caused them. We will tell you about such a claim promptly and let you take part in answering it. This does not apply to the extent the claim was caused by our own fault.
Law and courts
These terms, and any dispute about them or about GigTag, are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Sharjah. If something goes wrong, contact us first: most things can be put right quickly.
If you use GigTag for your business, the courts of Sharjah have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection that the law of the country you live in gives you and that cannot be set aside by contract, and you can bring a claim in the courts of that country as well as in the UAE. A consumer in the UAE can also complain to the UAE consumer protection authorities.
We are not part of an alternative dispute resolution scheme, and the EU’s online dispute resolution platform has closed. If we cannot settle a complaint with you, you can go to the consumer protection authority or the courts where you live.
Changes to these terms
When GigTag changes, these terms may change with it, and the date at the top moves. We announce changes that matter to performers in the dashboard at least 30 days before they take effect, unless a change has to apply sooner because of the law, or to deal with abuse or a security problem. Changes do not apply to the past.
If you keep using GigTag after a change takes effect, the new terms apply to you. If you do not agree, you can stop using GigTag and delete your account before then; if a change materially reduces what you have paid for, contact us and we will refund the unused part of your subscription. When the content terms change, we may ask you to agree to them again.
The rest of the agreement
- These terms, the privacy notice and what is shown to you at checkout are the whole agreement between you and us about GigTag.
- If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies.
- If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- We may transfer this agreement to a company that takes over GigTag; we will tell you, and your rights under it will not be reduced. You cannot transfer your account, but you can hand an act to another member through an ownership transfer.
