GigTag

GigTag for hotel and restaurant musicians

Diners enjoy you. Make it easy for them to find you again.

You play brunch, the lobby and the terrace, or a week at a resort or on a ship, to people whose attention is on the food. A GigTag on the stand lets them ask quietly, tip without a bill folder and put your next night in their calendar before the dessert menu.

  • Quiet requests, no walking up
  • Your residencies in their calendar
  • Private event enquiries

The problem

Heard by everyone, known by nobody

Background music is the hardest audience to convert. They like it, they would like to hear it again and they cannot tell you without interrupting their meal.

The venue wants you to be unobtrusive, and you also want the room to remember your name. A small tag does both.

What GigTag does

One code, four jobs done for you

  1. Pro

    Requests without a conversation

A diner scans from the table and sends a title. You read it between songs and play it if it fits the mood of the room. A request is only a suggestion.

  2. Free

    Next week, in their calendar

Your weekly nights show on your page. A guest taps once to put next Friday in their calendar, which is the only marketing most residencies need.

  3. Pro

    Tips for a lovely evening

A guest can say thank you by card or Apple Pay without a note or a jar. Turn it off if the venue prefers.

  4. Free

The party at the next table

Every private function started with someone watching you play, and a hotel's own events manager is often the one asking. The enquiry form is there when they decide.

A night with GigTag

A Friday on a hotel terrace

The tag is on a stand beside the keyboard, in the hotel's colours. During dinner a couple scans, sends a request and adds your Friday residency to their calendar.

After the second set the general manager mentions a corporate dinner next month. You send her your page link, and the enquiry form comes back with the date the same evening.

Set up

Ready before your next gig

  1. 1

Ask the venue if a small tag on the stand is fine, and match its colours if you like.

  2. 2

Use your own song list so requests stay in the mood of the room.

  3. 3

Add the residency, with its day and time.

  4. 4

Keep the tip button on, or off if the venue asks.

Free: your page, links, gigs and residencies, and a booking form. Pro adds song requests, tips, invoices and more than one act. Tips go straight into your own Ziina or Stripe account, and GigTag takes 0%.

Questions

GigTag for hotel and restaurant musicians: your questions

Will it distract guests?

It is a small tag on the stand. Nothing flashes or makes noise, and guests who do not scan will not notice it.

Can the venue see the requests?

The queue is on your phone. You decide what to play.

Can I turn tips off for a venue that does not like them?

Yes. Tips are a switch, and requests can go without them.

Can the hotel book me through GigTag?

They can use your booking enquiry form to send the details. GigTag does not place you with venues.
