GigTag

GigTag for cruise and resort entertainers

A new audience every Sunday. The same act every week.

On a ship or at a resort the crowd changes completely each week, so you start from nothing every time. A GigTag on the stand gives each new group a simple way to ask for a song, say thank you and keep following you after they go home.

  • Fresh crowd, same code
  • Follow you after the trip
  • Tips by card, even for tourists

The problem

Starting from zero, every single week

You can play a great show and wave goodbye to every guest on disembarkation day. They might have loved it, and they might think of you again next year, but they will not remember your name or where to look.

One thing needs saying plainly: fans need a connection to open the page. At sea, signal and onboard Wi-Fi can be slow, patchy or paid for, and a guest who cannot connect cannot scan and use the page there and then.

What GigTag does

One code, four jobs done for you

  1. Free

    Follow you after the trip

A guest who scans on the ship can save your page and find your socials, music and next dates once they are back on shore, even if the connection at sea was poor.

  2. Pro

    Requests when the signal allows

Guests with a connection can send a title and you see the queue on your phone. It is a suggestion you can decline, and you can switch to Closed if the show has a fixed running order.

  3. Pro

A tip from anywhere in the world

Guests from many countries can tip by card or Apple Pay, if their connection allows. It goes to your own Ziina or Stripe account and GigTag takes 0%.

  4. Free

    Enquiries from guests on land

Guests who run events, weddings or venues at home can use the booking enquiry form later, from their sofa instead of the deck.

A night with GigTag

A sea-day show in the lounge

The tag is on the stand, and you point to it once and say that the page also works on shore. Guests with Wi-Fi in the lounge scan and send a few requests. Others take a photo of the code to open later.

Two weeks after the cruise, a guest who owns a restaurant at home fills in the enquiry form. For hotel and restaurant work the same page answers the questions a booker asks first.

Set up

Ready before your next gig

  1. 1

Print the code large enough to be photographed from a few seats away.

  2. 2

Tell the audience once that they can scan now or later.

  3. 3

Check with the ship or resort whether guests have usable Wi-Fi in the venue.

  4. 4

Connect Ziina or Stripe if you want tips.

Free: your page, links, gigs and residencies, and a booking form. Pro adds song requests, tips, invoices and more than one act. Tips go straight into your own Ziina or Stripe account, and GigTag takes 0%.

Questions

GigTag for cruise and resort entertainers: your questions

Will it work at sea?

Only with a connection. If guests have no signal or no Wi-Fi in the venue, they cannot open the page there and then. They can photograph the code and open it later on shore.

Can GigTag load offline?

No. The page and any requests need a connection on the fan's phone.

Do guests need an account?

No. They need only a phone camera and a connection, with no app and no account.

Does GigTag get me onto ships or resorts?

No. It is not a marketplace and does not find work. It helps the guests you already play to remember, tip and contact you.
