GigTag

GigTag for brunch performers

Four hours, fifty tables, and everyone wants a song.

Brunch is loud, long and full of groups who are there to celebrate. A GigTag on the stand lets every table ask for something and tip without anyone queueing at the keyboard or shouting over the music.

  • A queue instead of shouting
  • Tips for the whole table
  • Next brunch in their calendar

The problem

Everyone asks at once

A birthday table wants one song, the next table wants another, and by the second hour you are taking requests between verses and trying to remember who asked first. Some of the best requests come from people too shy to walk up.

Brunch is also where the next party gets booked. The birthday host who enjoyed your set is exactly the person who needs your details later, and a business card in a drink-wet hand rarely survives the afternoon.

What GigTag does

One code, four jobs done for you

  1. Pro

    A queue you can read

Tables scan and send a title, optionally with a name for the toast. You see everything in order on your phone and play what fits the room. A request is a suggestion, never an obligation.

  2. Pro

    Tips from the table

The group pays one tip by card or Apple Pay to your own Ziina or Stripe account, with no jar to pass round. GigTag takes 0%.

  3. Free

Your brunch slots, in their calendar

List each venue as a weekly residency. The guests who loved it can put next Friday in their calendar in a tap.

  4. Free

    The next party starts here

A guest planning a birthday or a hen weekend sends the booking enquiry form from their seat, with the date and details.

A night with GigTag

A Friday brunch in the main room

The tag is on the stand next to the mic. A table of eight scans, sends a birthday request and tips once for the group. You play it after the next song, and they cheer. The queue holds the next five songs, and you skip the one that does not suit a lunch crowd.

As the room thins, one guest sends the enquiry form for a villa party next month. If you play with a partner, a duo can share one page, and a full cover band can run the same set with the same tag.

Set up

Ready before your next gig

  1. 1

Check with the venue that a tag on the stand is fine.

  2. 2

Pick open requests or a song list that suits a lunch crowd.

  3. 3

Add each brunch as a weekly residency with its day and time.

  4. 4

Connect Ziina or Stripe if you want tips.

Free: your page, links, gigs and residencies, and a booking form. Pro adds song requests, tips, invoices and more than one act. Tips go straight into your own Ziina or Stripe account, and GigTag takes 0%.

Questions

GigTag for brunch performers: your questions

Do I have to play every request?

No. Requests are suggestions. Decline the ones that do not suit the room, or use a song list so only your songs can be picked.

Is it too much when the room is busy?

The queue is on your phone, in order. Switch to Closed when you need a break from taking requests.

Will the venue allow tips through the tag?

That is up to the venue. Tips are a switch, so you can turn them off if the management prefers.

Does GigTag book me into brunches?

No. It does not find work or place acts. It gives the guests and hosts you already play to an easy way to ask, tip and book you.
