GigTag

GigTag for cover and party bands

Five people on stage and one request queue.

A covers band lives on what the room wants to hear. A GigTag on the stage lets the crowd ask without walking up to the drummer, shows the whole line-up on one page and keeps the next gig a scan away.

  • Requests from your set list
  • A page for the whole line-up
  • Tips into one account

The problem

Everyone in the room is a request

A band has more people to interrupt and fewer free hands. Requests arrive as napkins, as shouts and as a stranger tapping the bassist's shoulder in the middle of a bridge.

A request is a good sign. People like you enough to ask, whether you are a five-piece, a trio or a big function band. The job is to collect them without breaking the song you are in.

What GigTag does

One code, four jobs done for you

  1. Pro

Requests from the songs you actually know

Load your set list as your song list. The crowd chooses from it, and you only see requests you can play. Switch to open requests when the room is up for it.

  2. Pro

    A band page

Each member creates their own account and joins, so the line-up shows with photos and links. The owner looks after the page and the payment details.

  3. Pro

Tips to the band, not the bandleader's phone

Tips pay into the band's connected account. How you split them is your own business, not an app's.

  4. Free

All the gigs in one list

Every venue and every residency on one page, from the pub to the beach club. Fans add the next one to a calendar, and the booking form takes enquiries for the private ones.

A night with GigTag

A Friday night with a five-piece

Before the second set the singer says one thing from the mic: scan the tag on the drum riser and ask for a song. The queue fills in the break. At the start of the set the keyboard player reads it and picks the next four.

At the end of the night a woman asks how to book you for her husband's fiftieth. The tag is still on the riser, and the form does the rest.

Set up

Ready before your next gig

  1. 1

One person creates the band act; every member then makes a free account and joins.

  2. 2

Enter the set list, with the keys and tempos in your own notes if you want them.

  3. 3

Agree who watches the queue (the person nearest their phone).

  4. 4

Add the regular venues as residencies.

Free: your page, links, gigs and residencies, and a booking form. Pro adds song requests, tips, invoices and more than one act. Tips go straight into your own Ziina or Stripe account, and GigTag takes 0%.

Questions

GigTag for cover and party bands: your questions

Does every member need a subscription?

No. Pro covers the band act. Members join with their own free accounts.

Can we also run a solo act under the same tag?

Yes. On Pro, add the band as a second act next to your solo act and switch which one your tag opens.

How do we handle tips between us?

Tips go into the band's connected account. Sharing them out is up to you.

Can the crowd request songs we do not know?

Only if you switch on open requests. With your own list, they choose from what you play.
