GigTag

GigTag for choirs and a cappella groups

Forty voices, and the audience still cannot find your next concert.

A choir has the biggest membership of any act and often the smallest marketing team. A GigTag in the foyer or on the edge of the stage puts every concert, every member and a simple way to give on one page.

  • Every member with their own account
  • Your concert dates in one list
  • Give by card, no collection plate

The problem

A full hall and nowhere to send them

The concert goes well and the hall is full of people who would come again. They cannot tell from the programme when you sing next, and the programme is in the bin by the car park. The next concert is announced in a group chat they are not in.

Meanwhile a church, a school or a hotel is looking for a choir for December, and the person organising it has your name from one evening and no idea how to ask.

What GigTag does

One code, four jobs done for you

  1. Pro

A page the whole choir belongs to

A band act lists every singer, and each one joins with their own free account and photo. It suits a gospel choir of thirty and a six-voice a cappella group alike.

  2. Free

Every concert and rehearsal night as a gig

List the winter concert, the weekly carol service and the summer show. Anyone can add them to their calendar from the page. The page is free.

  3. Pro

Tips by card for the concert fund

Fans scan and give by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay into the Ziina or Stripe account you connect. GigTag takes 0%. The account holder decides where it goes, whether that is the choir fund or a charity.

  4. Free

    An enquiry form for events

Weddings, carol services and corporate evenings all arrive with the same questions. The form collects the date, the place and the occasion in one go, ready for the director to read.

A night with GigTag

A December carol concert

The tag stands on a table by the door, with the same words on a card: scan for our next concert. During the interval, a few people scan and give a tip towards the choir's spring tour. One of them adds the January concert to her calendar.

A week later the director gets an enquiry from a company that heard the choir at the concert and would like a short set at its private event. She answers it from the form, not from a WhatsApp thread.

Set up

Ready before your next gig

  1. 1

Create the band act and send the invite to every singer, section by section.

  2. 2

Add the concerts for the season as gigs, and any regular rehearsal-open evenings.

  3. 3

Choose who holds the Ziina or Stripe account and what the tips are for, and say so on the page.

  4. 4

Print the tag on a card for the foyer, and put it on the programme as well.

Free: your page, links, gigs and residencies, and a booking form. Pro adds song requests, tips, invoices and more than one act. Tips go straight into your own Ziina or Stripe account, and GigTag takes 0%.

Questions

GigTag for choirs and a cappella groups: your questions

Does every singer need an account?

Each member joins the band act with their own free account. For a large choir you can add the committee and section leaders and keep the page short.

Do songs get requested at a choir concert?

Rarely. You can leave requests off and use the tag for the concert list, tips and enquiries. For a gospel or wedding choir that takes requests, turn them on.

Can we use it for donations to a charity?

A tip goes to the account holder, as a payment to them. It is not a charity donation platform, so state clearly on the page what the money is for.

Does it help us sell tickets?

No. GigTag does not sell tickets. The page can list the concert and link to your own ticket page.
