GigTag

GigTag for live painters and caricaturists

The queue is the best advert you have. Put something in it.

Live painting, caricature and henna draw a crowd that waits and watches. A GigTag on the easel gives everyone in the queue a page to follow, a way to tip, and a form to book you for their own party.

  • Tag on the easel or table
  • Booking form for events
  • Deposit invoices

The problem

Twenty people watch you work for an hour

At a wedding or a corporate evening there is a line at your easel, and half of the line is not getting a portrait tonight. They watch, they take photos, and some of them are planning their own event.

Your best booking tool is a person who just watched you draw a stranger in four minutes. The only thing missing is a way to reach you without interrupting your pen.

What GigTag does

One code, four jobs done for you

  1. Free

    A portfolio on one page

Photos of finished pieces, videos of you at work and your links, in your own look. Hosts see what the evening would look like.

  2. Free

    Your events and regular spots

List a weekly market or a restaurant stint, and one-off events. Guests can see where to find you next.

  3. Free

An enquiry form with the details

Event type, date, guests and venue, in one message. You see how many hours are needed and where.

  4. Pro

    Tips and deposit invoices

The queue can tip by card or Apple Pay into your own account. Pro also lets you send a deposit invoice, then a balance invoice, for booked events.

A night with GigTag

A corporate evening

The tag stands on the easel with a line that says follow, tip and book. Between portraits, guests in the queue scan it and look at your other work.

Two days later an HR manager who was in that queue sends the form for a staff party. You quote, she agrees, and the deposit invoice is paid that afternoon.

Set up

Ready before your next gig

  1. 1

Photograph your best six pieces and add a short video of you drawing.

  2. 2

Publish the page and list your usual markets and venues.

  3. 3

Connect Ziina or Stripe on Pro for tips and invoices.

  4. 4

Fix the tag to the easel or the table, facing the queue.

Free: your page, links, gigs and residencies, and a booking form. Pro adds song requests, tips, invoices and more than one act. Tips go straight into your own Ziina or Stripe account, and GigTag takes 0%.

Questions

GigTag for live painters and caricaturists: your questions

Does the tag replace taking payment for portraits?

No. Your event fee or per-portrait price is between you and the client. The tag is for tips, follows and booking enquiries.

Can guests request a subject?

No. Song requests are a music feature. Guests ask you directly, as they do now.

Can I invoice a deposit?

Yes, on Pro. Send a deposit invoice that the client pays online by card, then a balance invoice after the event.

Does GigTag find clients for me?

No. It is not a marketplace. It turns people who have seen your work into bookings.
