GigTag for comedians and mcs
The room laughed. Now tell them where you are next week.
A stand-up set ends and the audience scatters to the bar. A GigTag on the mic stand or the merch table gives them one page with your next shows, where to buy tickets, and a form for people who want you at their own event.
- Next shows on one page
- Tickets linked, not sold
- Corporate enquiry form
The problem
A good set and no way to follow it
Someone says they loved the bit about the airport. They ask where you are on next. You tell them the club and the date, and they say they will look you up, and your name is hard to spell.
The bookings that pay best, corporate dinners and private parties, come from people who saw you at a club and had no way to ask. The tag is there for that moment.
What GigTag does
One code, four jobs done for you
- Free
Your next shows
Every date and every weekly night, with the venue and the time. Fans can add one to a calendar.
- Free
Tickets live where they already live
Link to the club's or promoter's ticket page. GigTag does not sell tickets, so there is nothing to set up and nothing to pay for.
- Free
An enquiry form for private events
Corporate dinners, birthdays and charity nights ask for you through one form, with the date, venue and guests.
- Pro
Tips, if your room tips
Tips are less common at comedy than at music, and some rooms are no place for them. When you do a free night or a street show, a card or Apple Pay tip goes straight to your account.
A night with GigTag
A Thursday comedy night
You close your ten minutes with the date of your next headline spot and point at the tag on the stand. At the interval a few people scan it, and one adds your show to her calendar.
Later a woman who is organising a leaving party fills in the form. The same tag suits the open mic where you tried the material first. You reply with a price the next morning.
Set up
Ready before your next gig
- 1
Add a clip of a recent set and a short bio an organiser can read in ten seconds.
- 2
List every show and any weekly night you host.
- 3
Link the ticket pages for the shows that sell tickets.
- 4
Mention the tag once, at the end of the set or from the merch table.
Free: your page, links, gigs and residencies, and a booking form. Pro adds song requests, tips, invoices and more than one act. Tips go straight into your own Ziina or Stripe account, and GigTag takes 0%.
Questions
GigTag for comedians and mcs: your questions
Does GigTag sell tickets?
No. Your page links to the venue's or promoter's ticket page, wherever they sell them.
Will people tip a comedian?
Sometimes, not often. It suits free shows, street and pub sets, and warm rooms. It is optional and on Pro, so leave it off where it does not fit.
Can an MC or host use it?
Yes. A host can list a weekly night as a residency, with its line-up note and venue, so regulars know when the next one is.
Can people request jokes or topics?
No. Requests are a music feature. A comedian's page is shows, links, bookings and optional tips.
