Playing weddings through FixTheMusic? Add a tag to the stand
At a wedding, the guests decide how the night goes: what they want to hear, whether they remember the band, and who they book for their own day. GigTag gives them one code on your mic stand for all of it: requests, your links, your next date and an enquiry form. If FixTheMusic was what you were looking at for wedding work, this covers the reception itself.

Why GigTag
Why wedding acts add GigTag alongside FixTheMusic
FixTheMusic is built to match couples with musicians and take care of the booking. GigTag is built for the hours you are on stage. Guests scan one code to request songs, follow you and see where you play next, and at gigs you booked yourself they can enquire directly, with no commission taken by GigTag.
- 1
Guests request without leaving the floor
On Pro, a guest scans the tag and picks from your song list, or asks for anything if you open requests for the night. It lands in a live queue on your phone, so nobody leaves the dance floor to find the bandleader. A booking service looks after the day getting booked. This looks after the set.
- 2
The next enquiry starts at this gig
People planning a wedding go to weddings. At the gigs you booked directly, a guest can scan the tag and send a booking enquiry before the last song, straight to your GigTag app, with no commission taken by GigTag. FixTheMusic reaches couples who are searching online. GigTag reaches the ones watching you.
- 3
No app for a marquee of guests
Wedding guests range from teenagers to grandparents, and few of them will want to install something for one evening. They do not have to. The phone camera reads the code and your page opens in the browser, with no account. A booking site is used by the couple. The tag is used by everyone they invited.
- 4
Invoices in your own design
When a direct enquiry becomes a booking, Pro lets you send the client an invoice in your own design, which they pay online. FixTheMusic handles payment for the bookings made through it. GigTag gives you a tidy finish for the weddings and parties that come from your own audience.
- 5
One code, first wedding to last
The printed code never changes. The tag you put up at the first wedding of the season is the one you put up at the last, and a guest who photographed it can scan it months later. Rename the act and the old links still work. Your FixTheMusic profile stays as it is, doing its own job.
In short
FixTheMusic and GigTag, in four lines
- FixTheMusic supplies wedding bands, DJs and musicians for weddings and events in the UK, Europe and beyond.
- GigTag covers the reception itself: on Pro, guests request songs from their phones into a live queue.
- Guests need no app or account, and the code on your tag never changes.
- Our advice: use FixTheMusic to be found by couples, and GigTag at every gig you play.

Getting enquiries
Enquiries from guests who have just heard you
Enquiries come from people at your gigs. They scan the tag, fill in the form on your page, and you read it in the app or on the website.
FixTheMusicIts site says musicians receive direct enquiries sent from their profile page, plus general enquiries that are relevant to their profile.
Setting your price
Invoices the client pays online, on Pro
You agree the price with the client yourself. On Pro you can then send an invoice in your own design that the client pays online.
FixTheMusicMusicians are free to set their own price for each gig, and its site says they receive a deposit once a booking is confirmed.
The paperwork
Keep FixTheMusic for its booking agreement
GigTag is not an agency. For a direct booking the agreement is between you and the client, and Pro gives you invoices to go with it.
FixTheMusicEach booking is governed by its Agreement, which its site says is based on the Musicians' Union standard contract, so acts do not send their own.
Talking to the client
Enquiries land directly in your GigTag app
The booking enquiry reaches you directly, in the GigTag app or on the website, and you carry on the conversation with the client yourself.
FixTheMusicContact with bookers runs through the site's messaging system, which its site describes as direct contact between the client and the musician.
Your profile
A page guests open with one scan
Your page is reached from the printed code, not from a search. It shows your socials, website and music links, your gigs and, on Pro, your song list.
FixTheMusicActs get media-rich profile pages which, its site says, are optimised for search engines, so that couples searching online can find them.

FixTheMusic or GigTag
Where GigTag is different from FixTheMusic
A planned booking, a spontaneous scan
A FixTheMusic booking starts months out, with a couple comparing videos and quotes. A GigTag moment starts mid-set, when a guest spots the tag on your mic stand and points a phone at it. Your page opens in the browser, no app needed, and they can request a song, follow your socials or see where you play next. One is a considered purchase. The other takes ten seconds between the first dance and the buffet.
Requests from the dance floor
Wedding guests always want a song. With GigTag on Pro they scan the tag and choose from your song list, or ask for anything if you open requests, and it drops into a live queue on your phone. No shouting over the PA, no napkins left on the monitor. A booking service gets you to the venue. This part of the night is you, the guests and the set.
Residencies between the weddings
Between weddings, most acts play bars, hotels and restaurants. GigTag lists those gigs and weekly residencies on your page, and anyone who scans can add one to their calendar. In Dubai, where FixTheMusic also books, a hotel residency and a GigTag go well together: on Pro, regulars scan and request songs, and in the UAE they can tip by card or Apple Pay through your own Ziina account, with GigTag taking 0%.
A night with GigTag
A wedding band's evening reception, start to finish
The marquee is up, the speeches have run long, and your six-piece is ready by the dance floor. This couple found you themselves and booked you directly. Your tag is on the lead singer's mic stand. During the first dance, an usher scans it out of curiosity. Your page opens in his browser, with no app to install, and he sees the song list. You are on Pro and have opened requests for the night, so guests can ask for anything. A request for the couple's favourite arrives in the live queue on your phone.
You keep an eye on the queue between songs and fold the ones that fit into the second set. Nobody has to shout a title across the stage. A cousin of the groom scans the tag, sees your public gig next month and adds it to his calendar. Near midnight another guest opens the booking enquiry form: her own wedding is next spring. The enquiry is in the GigTag app when you load the van. Later that week you agree the details and send an invoice in your own design, which she pays online.
About FixTheMusic
What is FixTheMusic?
FixTheMusic supplies wedding bands, DJs and professional musicians for weddings, corporate functions, private parties and charity events. Its site describes it as a supplier for the UK and Europe that has been running since 2015, and it also takes bookings worldwide, Dubai included. The acts range from showbands and soul bands to string quartets, acoustic duos, ceilidh bands and DJs with live sax. Destination weddings in France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece and Croatia feature heavily.
A client describes the event, receives quotes from musicians picked to match, then books and pays by card online. Client and musician talk through the site's own messaging. For musicians, its site describes profile pages rich in video and audio, enquiries sent both from your profile and from general requests that fit you, the freedom to set your own price for each gig, and payment collected online, so there is no cash to chase on the night.

How FixTheMusic works
- 1
The client describes the event. A couple or planner enters the location and details of the event, or browses acts by place and style. Its site also offers to do the searching for them.
- 2
Musicians send quotes. Enquiries reach musicians whose profiles match, and each sets a price for that gig. The client reads the quotes and talks to acts through the site's messaging.
- 3
Booking and card payment. The client books and pays by credit or debit card online. Its site says the booking is governed by its own agreement, so the act sends no separate contract.
- 4
Play, then get paid. After the event, FixTheMusic pays the musician. Its site says payment is handled online, so there is nothing to collect on the night.
Who FixTheMusic is for
A wedding in the UK. The core of its site is wedding music: string quartets and acoustic duos for the ceremony and drinks, and evening bands from soul and Motown to indie rock. Couples browse by location and watch videos before they ask for quotes.
A destination wedding abroad. Its site talks about helping couples find local bands and musicians for weddings in France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece and Croatia. It describes this as a safe way to book musicians anywhere in the world from home.
Corporate and private events. Beyond weddings, the site names corporate functions, private parties and charity events. Showbands, DJs with live sax, tribute bands, ceilidh bands and brass bands all sit in its categories, alongside solo singers and jazz and swing acts.
The verdict
GigTag or FixTheMusic: which should you choose?
The bottom line
For any act that plays live, GigTag belongs on the mic stand. The strongest reason at a wedding is requests: on Pro, guests choose songs from their phones and you see them in a live queue, with no app for anyone to install. GigTag does not find wedding clients, so if you want matched enquiries and destination work, FixTheMusic still does that job for you. Use it to get booked, and GigTag once you are playing.
Run them side by side. Let FixTheMusic bring wedding clients, quotes and payment. Carry a GigTag for your own gigs, where a scan can turn into a direct enquiry and, on Pro, an invoice the client pays online. For events booked through FixTheMusic, stick to your agreement with it on how follow-up enquiries are handled. The tag still earns its place there for song requests and links.
- Step 1
List with FixTheMusic
Build your profile with strong video and answer the enquiries it sends you. Let its agreement and online payment cover the weddings that come through it.
- Step 2
Set up GigTag once
Create your act, add your song list and links, and design the tag. The code is permanent, so this is a one-off job before the season starts.
- Step 3
Use it at every gig
Put the tag on the stand at bar gigs, residencies and weddings you booked directly. For FixTheMusic bookings, keep to its agreement about further enquiries.

Questions
FixTheMusic and GigTag: what people ask
Something else? Ask us. A person reads every message.
Is GigTag better than FixTheMusic for a wedding band?
For the reception itself, yes: GigTag is built for a band on a stage, with song requests on Pro, your links and next date, and a booking form, all from one code guests scan with their camera. For finding couples and taking their payment, FixTheMusic is the one built for that. A wedding band that wants both jobs done uses both.
Why would a wedding band need a QR tag if FixTheMusic sends enquiries?
Because the enquiries FixTheMusic sends come from people searching online, and a full dance floor is a different audience. With GigTag, guests at your gigs can request songs on Pro, follow your socials and save your next public date. At gigs you booked yourself they can also enquire directly, and GigTag takes no commission on the booking.
What does FixTheMusic do for musicians?
According to its site, FixTheMusic gives musicians a profile page with video, sends enquiries from clients planning weddings and events, lets them set their own price for each gig, and handles the booking agreement and the client's online payment. It covers the UK, Europe and destination weddings further afield. See its site for terms.
Does GigTag find wedding clients like FixTheMusic?
No. GigTag is not a marketplace or an agency and does not send you leads. It is a QR code on a tag for your mic stand. Guests scan it to request songs, follow you, see your next gig or send a booking enquiry. The clients it brings are people who have just watched you play.
Does GigTag work at a destination wedding booked through FixTheMusic?
Yes. The page, song requests, gigs, links, booking enquiries and invoices work in every country, and guests only need a phone camera and a browser. Tips work everywhere too, into your own Stripe account, or your own Ziina account in the UAE, and GigTag takes 0% of them.
What happens to the GigTag code after a FixTheMusic wedding?
Nothing changes. Each act has one permanent code, so the same tag goes on the stand at the next gig and the one after. A guest who photographed it can scan it months later and still reach your page. If you rename the act, old links keep working.
Does FixTheMusic book bands for destination weddings?
Yes. Its site says it helps couples find local bands, musicians and entertainment for destination weddings in countries such as France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece and Croatia, and describes a way to book musicians anywhere in the world from home. Check its site for the acts available in a particular country.
How are musicians paid through FixTheMusic?
Its site says the client pays online by card, the musician receives a deposit once the booking is confirmed, and the balance follows after the gig. That means no cash to collect on the night. For the full terms, including cancellations, read the agreement on its site.
Can a wedding band take song requests by QR code?
Yes. With GigTag on Pro, guests scan the code on your mic stand and choose from your song list in their browser. You can also open requests so they can ask for anything. Requests appear in a live queue on your phone during the set. Guests need no app and no account.
Can I invoice a wedding client through GigTag?
Yes, on Pro. Once you have agreed a booking with a client, you can send an invoice in your own design and the client pays it online. Invoices work in every country. Booking enquiries themselves are on the free plan, and GigTag takes no commission on bookings.
