From a Cueup booking to a full dance floor: where GigTag fits
When you play an event, the organiser already knows you. The guests do not, and they are the ones who will ask for songs tonight and need music for their own parties later. GigTag gives every one of them a code on your mic stand to scan. If Cueup was what you were looking at, this is the part that happens on the night.

Why GigTag
Why live acts choose GigTag alongside Cueup
Cueup is built around organisers finding and booking artists, with DJs at its centre. GigTag is built for a live act on a stage. One printed code lets the whole room request songs, follow you, save your next gig and enquire directly, and GigTag takes no commission on bookings.
- 1
Built for a live act
GigTag starts from the mic stand. The tag, the song list, the live queue and the page are all made for a solo performer, duo or band playing to a room. Cueup has DJs at its centre, with bands and musicians listed too. If you sing or play, GigTag is designed around how your gig runs.
- 2
The whole room can find you
A booking on a marketplace connects you with the organiser. A scan connects you with any guest who points a camera at the tag: your page opens in the browser with your socials, website and music links. No app, no account. That is how the name of the act travels home with the guests.
- 3
Requests arrive in a queue
On Pro, guests request from your song list, or anything if you open requests, and each one shows in a live queue on your phone. You choose what fits and when. Cueup's messaging settles the music with the organiser beforehand. The queue tells you what the guests want now.
- 4
The next booking comes direct
At your own gigs, a guest who needs music for a wedding or a birthday sends a booking enquiry from your page. It reaches you in the GigTag app, and GigTag takes no commission. A marketplace is for organisers who are searching. This is for people who have already heard you.
- 5
Solo, duo and band together
If you gig as a solo act some nights and with a band on others, Pro lets one GigTag account hold more than one act, and band members can join the band. The free plan covers one act. A Cueup profile presents you to organisers. GigTag keeps your acts in order for the audience.
In short
Cueup and GigTag, in four lines
- Cueup is a booking site where event organisers find, compare and book DJs, bands and musicians.
- GigTag is built for a live act: a mic stand tag that lets every guest request, follow and enquire.
- Guests scan with their camera and your page opens in the browser, with no app or account.
- Our advice: whoever books the event, put a GigTag on your stand so the guests can reach you.

Your profile
A page built for the audience at the event
Your GigTag page is for the audience: socials, website and music links, your gigs and, on Pro, the song list they can request from.
CueupEach artist's profile has mixes to listen to, photos and videos from earlier performances, and reviews. Its site says every artist is screened or reviewed.
Getting booked
Keep Cueup for organisers who are searching
GigTag does not match you with events. It lets people at your gig send a booking enquiry from your page, directly to you.
CueupAn organiser describes the event and Cueup matches them with artists in their area, who they can compare before choosing.
Messages
Enquiries straight to you, no commission to GigTag
Enquiries from your page arrive in the GigTag app or on the website. You reply to the person yourself and agree everything directly.
CueupIts site says organisers contact the artist directly through Cueup, messaging back and forth until the details of the event are agreed.
Being paid
Invoices on Pro, and tips with 0% taken
On Pro you send an invoice in your own design and the client pays it online. Tips go into your own Stripe or Ziina account, with 0% taken.
CueupThe organiser can pay on Cueup, which holds the money until the event is finished, or by another method both sides prefer.
On your phone
A live request queue during your set
You run GigTag from the website or the GigTag phone app, where the live queue of requests shows during your set.
CueupArtists have the Cueup Gigs app, which its site links to for both iPhone and Android, for handling gigs away from a computer.

Cueup or GigTag
Where GigTag is different from Cueup
One organiser, or a hundred guests
Cueup connects you with one person: the organiser. On the night there are a hundred others in the room who have never heard of you. GigTag is for them. The tag sits on your mic stand, they scan it, and your page opens in the browser with your name, socials, music links and next gig. No app, no account. By the last song, the guests know exactly who was playing.
Requests without the crowd at the stage
At a party, requests arrive as shouted titles and phones held up to your face. With GigTag on Pro, guests scan the tag and request from your song list, or ask for anything if you open requests. Each one joins a live queue on your phone, so you can see what the room wants and work it in. All of this happens in the middle of the event that Cueup helped to book.
The next booking from this one
Events lead to events. Someone at the birthday party is planning a wedding. At your own gigs they can scan your tag and send a booking enquiry while they are still dancing. It reaches you in the GigTag app or on the website. On Pro you can answer with an invoice in your own design that they pay online, and GigTag takes no commission on the booking.
A night with GigTag
A singing DJ at an office summer party
It is an office summer party on a hotel terrace. The company booked you directly, as a DJ who also sings live with a guitar for the early part of the evening. Your GigTag is on the mic stand beside the decks. While people are still arriving, some of them scan it. Your page opens in the browser, with nothing to download, and shows your act's name, your socials and your music links. You are on Pro and have opened requests, so a guest asks for a song that is not on your list.
It appears in the live queue on your phone, next to two picks from your song list. You play all three in the acoustic set and the terrace sings along. Later, with the dance floor busy, someone from another department scans the tag and saves your next public gig to their calendar. Before the last track, a guest who is getting married in the autumn opens the booking enquiry form on your page and sends her date. You find it in the GigTag app when the decks are packed away.
About Cueup
What is Cueup?
Cueup is a booking site for event music. Organisers planning weddings, corporate events and birthday parties use it to find a DJ, band or musician. DJs are at its centre, with pages for wedding, corporate and party DJs, and bands and musicians are on it too. Each act has a profile with mixes, photos and videos from earlier performances, plus reviews, and its site says every artist has been screened or reviewed.
The organiser describes the event, and Cueup matches them with suitable artists in their area. They listen, compare, and message the artist to agree the details. Payment can go through Cueup, which keeps the money safe until the event is finished, or by another method the two sides choose. For artists there is a Cueup Gigs app on iPhone and Android, and its site mentions backup DJs on standby.

How Cueup works
- 1
Describe the event. The organiser enters where and when the event is, and describes the kind of performance they have in mind, from a wedding to an office party.
- 2
Get matched with artists. Cueup matches them with artists in the area. They listen to mixes, look at photos and videos from earlier performances and read reviews from other organisers.
- 3
Message and agree. Organiser and artist message each other directly on Cueup to settle the details of the night, including the style of music the organiser wants to hear.
- 4
Pay and enjoy the music. The organiser can pay through Cueup, which keeps the money safe until the event has finished, or use another form of payment agreed with the artist.
Who Cueup is for
Weddings. Wedding DJs have their own page on its site, and couples are a core audience. They can hear an artist's mixes, watch videos from past events and read reviews before choosing, then message the artist to agree the details.
Corporate events. Its site has a page for corporate event DJs, aimed at whoever is organising the office party or company celebration. The matching step means the organiser is shown suitable artists for the location and date they entered.
Birthdays and private parties. Birthday parties, anniversaries and other private events are the third group its site names. The organiser picks a musical style, compares several artists in their area and books the one that fits the party they are planning.
The verdict
GigTag or Cueup: which should you choose?
The bottom line
For a live act, GigTag is the one to put on the stand. The strongest reason is fit: it is built for a performer with a mic, a song list and a room full of guests, and it turns one scan into requests, follows and direct enquiries. GigTag does not find events for you. If you want organisers to find and book you through a marketplace, and above all if you are mainly a DJ, Cueup remains the tool for that.
They sit at opposite ends of the same job. Cueup puts you in front of organisers who are searching. GigTag works on the guests once you are playing, and at the bar gigs and residencies you arrange yourself. Keep both. If a guest at an event booked through Cueup wants to hire you, follow whatever terms you agreed with Cueup for that.
- Step 1
Win the event on Cueup
Keep your Cueup profile full of recent mixes, photos and videos, and reply to organisers' messages quickly so the details are agreed in good time before the date.
- Step 2
Prepare the page
Before the event, check your GigTag song list and links, and decide whether to open requests so guests can ask for anything on the night.
- Step 3
Tag on the stand
Put the tag on your mic stand when you set up. Guests scan to request and follow, and you watch the live queue from your phone.

Is GigTag better than Cueup for a band?
For the performance itself, GigTag is the one built for a band: a tag on the mic stand, a song list guests request from on Pro, a live queue, your gigs and links, and a booking form. For being found by event organisers, Cueup is built for that. A band can take the booking wherever it comes from and still use GigTag on the night.
What does GigTag give guests at an event booked on Cueup?
A way to take part and to find you again. They scan the tag with their camera and your page opens in the browser. On Pro they can request songs. On any plan they can follow your socials, open your music links and save your next public gig. Cueup's role is the booking between you and the organiser.
What is Cueup?
Cueup is a site where event organisers find and book DJs, bands and musicians. They describe the event, are matched with artists, listen to mixes, read reviews and message the artist directly. Payment can go through Cueup or another agreed method. Artists handle their gigs in the Cueup Gigs app. See its site for prices.
Is GigTag for DJs, like Cueup, or for live acts?
GigTag is built for live acts: solo performers, duos and bands. It gives the act one permanent QR code on a custom tag for the mic stand, and the page it opens has song requests, gigs, links and a booking form. Cueup has DJs at its centre, with bands and musicians listed as well.
Can guests at an event booked on Cueup request songs through GigTag?
Yes, on Pro. Guests scan the tag and request from your song list, or anything if you open requests, and each request appears in a live queue on your phone during the set. They need no app and no account, only a phone camera and a browser. Requests work in every country.
Will a Cueup profile and a GigTag page clash?
No. A Cueup profile is for organisers comparing acts before an event. A GigTag page is for the audience during and after it, reached from the printed code on your stand. Your GigTag page carries your socials, website and music links, so what you want people to find is one scan away.
How does Cueup match organisers with DJs and bands?
The organiser tells Cueup where and when the event is and what kind of performance they want. Its site says they are then matched with the most qualified artists, can listen to mixes and see photos and videos, and message artists to agree the details. See its site for how artists join.
Is there a Cueup app for artists?
Yes. Its site links to an app called Cueup Gigs for iPhone and Android. Organisers, meanwhile, use the website to describe their event and find artists. GigTag is a separate thing: you manage it from the GigTag website or phone app, and your audience uses only their browser.
Can a DJ who also plays live use GigTag?
Yes, if there is a live act to put on the page. GigTag is built for solo performers, duos and bands, with a tag for the mic stand. A DJ who sings or plays an instrument can use the song list, requests on Pro, gig dates, links and the booking enquiry form like any other live act.
How do party guests find a band again after the event?
Give them something to scan while you are playing. With GigTag, the code on your mic stand opens a page with your socials, website, music links and next gig. A guest can follow you on the spot or photograph the tag and scan it later, because the code never changes.
