Tips and digital tip jars
Tipeee funds the work. GigTag works the gig.
On a terrace or in a bar, the people listening can give you three useful things tonight: a request, their return next week, and a booking. GigTag collects all three from one printed code, with no app for them to install. Tipeee, which you were looking at, collects something else: funding from your community over the months.
- No app for your audience
- Free to start
- One code that never changes
Why GigTag
GigTag for the gig, Tipeee for the community
Tipeee funds creators through monthly tips and project collections. GigTag is built for the performance itself: requests in a live queue, residencies fans can save, links and a booking enquiry form, from a tag on your mic stand. It works across Europe, tips included.
- 1
Built for a live act
GigTag is for a live act: a solo performer, a duo or a band in front of an audience. The page behind the tag is about tonight and the next gig. Tipeee is built for creators of every kind publishing through the year. GigTag does one thing, the gig, in depth.
- 2
A song they asked for, played now
A fan scans the tag, picks from your list, and it appears in the live queue on your phone. Open requests and they can type anything. You play it while they are still at their table. Requests are part of Pro and work in every country.
- 3
A summer of regulars
A weekly residency sits on your page with your other gigs, and locals can add your evenings to their calendar. Holidaymakers can follow your socials and music links before they leave. Gigs, residencies and links are all on the free plan.
- 4
Weddings and private events
Diners become clients. The booking enquiry form lets them send a date from the table, and on Pro you invoice in your own design and are paid online. GigTag takes no commission on bookings and is not an agency or a marketplace.
- 5
Nothing to install, nothing to remember
The audience needs a phone camera. The page opens in the browser with no app and no account. For you, the code never changes, so the tag printed in May still works in September, next year and after a change of name.
In short
Tipeee and GigTag, in four lines
- Tipeee is a European platform where a community funds creators through monthly tips or project collections.
- GigTag is built for the live act: requests, residencies fans can save, and a booking enquiry form.
- It opens with a phone camera, needs no app, and works in every country.
- Our recommendation: add GigTag for your gigs and keep Tipeee for funding. GigTag tips are one-off, at the gig.
Side by side
GigTag vs Tipeee, topic by topic
The ask
One scan, several things to do
Your page asks for nothing. It offers song requests, your dates, your links and a booking enquiry form to whoever scans the tag.
TipeeeA creator asks the community for tips every month, or else for contributions to a collection for one specific project.
Giving something back
The song they asked for, tonight
The audience gets the song they asked for, played live in front of them, and an easy way to find your next gig.
TipeeeRewards can be matched to the size of the contribution, and its site gives files, links and content as examples.
Talking to supporters
Keep Tipeee for posts to supporters
Fans follow your socials and website from the links on your page. Booking enquiries come to you through the form.
TipeeePosts and messages go out to the community, and its site says creators can publish exclusive content for their supporters.
Live moments
A live request queue on your phone
A live queue of song requests updates on your phone during the set, in the GigTag app or on the website.
TipeeeWidgets display tips in real time on Twitch, YouTube and Facebook streams, and the creator has a dashboard that updates live.
Following progress
Gigs, enquiries and invoices in one place
The website and the app keep your gigs, residencies, booking enquiries and invoices together, for each act on the account.
TipeeeA dashboard lets the creator monitor the activity of the campaign and the payments that have come in, all in one place.

A Tipeee alternative
Where GigTag is different from Tipeee
A campaign page and a page for tonight
A Tipeee page explains your work and asks a community to fund it over months. A GigTag page is about the next few hours and the next few gigs. It shows who is playing, lets the room request songs, lists your next date and weekly residencies so a fan can add them to their calendar, and holds your socials and music links for anyone who wants more.
Rewards later, a song now
On Tipeee a supporter might receive a file or exclusive content in thanks. At a gig the reward is quicker. A fan scans the tag on your mic stand, picks a song from your list, and it arrives in a live queue on your phone. If you have opened requests they can ask for anything. You decide what gets played. Requests are part of GigTag Pro.
Tips across Europe
Tipeee is a European platform. GigTag works in every country for requests, gigs, links, booking enquiries, invoices and tips. Its tips are one-off, at the gig, by card or Apple Pay into your own Stripe account, or your own Ziina account in the UAE, with 0% taken by GigTag. A musician in France or Belgium can take tips in the room through GigTag and keep Tipeee for monthly support.
A night with GigTag
A summer terrace season for a duo
You have the terrace of a bistro three evenings a week until September: accordion, guitar, a small amp. Holidaymakers and locals share the tables. The GigTag tag is on the mic stand. A table of visitors scans it, and your page opens in their browser. They choose a song from your list and it shows in the live queue on your phone. You play it after the one you are on, and they film the whole thing.
Because the residency is on your page, the locals can see which evenings you are there and add them to their calendar. A wedding planner at the corner table sends a booking enquiry through the form before dessert. You answer it later on the GigTag app. A few tip by card on the page as they leave. The people who want to support your recordings can follow the link on your page to Tipeee. On Pro, the wedding gets an invoice in your own design, paid online.
About Tipeee
What is Tipeee?
Tipeee is a European crowdfunding platform for content creators. Its site names video, illustration, podcasts, blogs, music, streaming, photography and journalism among the kinds of work it supports. There are two ways to be funded. One is tips every month, so that your work is paid for all year round. The other is a collection for a single project, such as a special episode, an event or a pre-order campaign.
You launch a page, and your community, whom the site calls Tippers, chooses what to give. You can offer rewards that depend on the size of the contribution, such as files, links or content. Posts and messages keep you in touch with supporters, including exclusive content. For streamers there are widgets that show tips live on Twitch, YouTube and Facebook, and a dashboard tracks the campaign.

How Tipeee works
- 1
Launch your page. You become a creator and launch a page for your work. The site sorts creators into categories, with music listed beside video, podcasts and illustration.
- 2
Choose how to be funded. You pick monthly tips for ongoing work, or a collection for one project with a start and an end, such as an event or a pre-order.
- 3
Set your rewards. You can offer your Tippers something back that depends on how much each one gives. The examples on its site are files, links and content.
- 4
Keep the community posted. You publish posts and send messages to your community, including content only supporters see, and follow the campaign and your payments in the creator dashboard.
Who Tipeee is for
Creators who publish all year. Video makers, podcasters, bloggers and journalists are prominent on its home page. They put out work regularly and ask the people who enjoy it to tip every month, so that the work can carry on.
One-off projects. Collections are for a project with an end date: a special episode, a season, an event, or a pre-order campaign for merchandise, books or tickets. Supporters contribute once towards that single aim instead of every month.
Live streamers. For people who stream on Twitch, YouTube or Facebook, its site describes a real-time dashboard and widgets that show tips on screen as they arrive, so the audience watching sees each one as part of the broadcast.
The verdict
GigTag or Tipeee: which should you choose?
The bottom line
If you perform, GigTag belongs on your stand. The strongest reason is fit: it is built for a live act and gives the audience a request, your next date and a booking form in one scan, where a funding page is built for a community online. Tipeee remains the right choice for monthly tips and project collections, which GigTag does not offer, while GigTag tips are one-off, at the gig. A musician who posts and plays should keep Tipeee and add GigTag.
Yes. Keep Tipeee for the community that funds your work month by month, and for project collections. Use GigTag at gigs, and add your Tipeee page to the links on your GigTag page so people who discover you live can become supporters. GigTag does not find gigs for you, and it is not a crowdfunding site, so there is no overlap to manage.
- Step 1
Keep your Tipeee page
Monthly tips and project collections stay on Tipeee. Your community already knows where the page is, and GigTag does not do crowdfunding of any kind.
- Step 2
Set up GigTag for gigs
Build a GigTag page with your song list, your gigs, your residencies and your links. Design the tag, then order it or print the file yourself.
- Step 3
Join them with a link
Add your Tipeee page to your GigTag links, so people who hear you live can find where to support you through the rest of the year.

Is GigTag better than Tipeee for a musician who plays in bars?
For the bar gig, yes. GigTag is made for it: a tag on the mic stand, song requests in a live queue, residencies people can save, links and a booking enquiry form, all in the browser. Tipeee is made for community funding online. Keep it for that. GigTag tips are one-off, in the room, so the two do not overlap.
Why would a creator on Tipeee also need GigTag?
Only if you play live. Then GigTag gives you what a gig needs and a funding page is not built around: requests from the audience, dates they can add to their calendar, and enquiries from people who want to book you. The free plan covers the page, the tag design, links, gigs and the enquiry form.
What is Tipeee?
Tipeee is a European platform where creators and artists are funded by their community. Supporters can tip every month or contribute to a one-off project collection, and creators can offer rewards in return. Music is one of the categories on its site. For prices and conditions, see its site.
Can musicians use Tipeee and GigTag together?
Yes. Tipeee handles ongoing support from your community online. GigTag handles the gig: song requests, your gigs and residencies, booking enquiries. Your GigTag page has links to your socials, website and music, and your Tipeee page can sit with them, so a new fan can find it straight after scanning.
Does GigTag take tips in Europe like Tipeee?
At the gig, yes, though not in the same way. GigTag tips are one-off, by card or Apple Pay into the performer's own Stripe account, with 0% taken by GigTag. In Europe you can use GigTag for tips, requests, gigs, links, booking enquiries and invoices, and keep Tipeee for monthly support from your community.
Is GigTag a crowdfunding platform like Tipeee?
No. GigTag gives a live act one permanent QR code on a custom tag for the mic stand, and a page fans open in the browser. It is for requests, upcoming gigs, links and booking enquiries. It has no campaigns, collections or memberships, so it sits beside a platform like Tipeee.
Does GigTag work in France and the rest of Europe?
Yes. The page, the tag, song requests, gigs and residencies, links, booking enquiries, invoices and tips work in every country, with tips going into your own Stripe account. Outside the UAE and the UK, Pro is $15.99 a month.
How can a restaurant or terrace musician get more private bookings?
Make it easy for diners to ask while they are enjoying the music. A GigTag page has a booking enquiry form: they scan the tag on your mic stand, send the date and details, and you reply when the set is over. GigTag is not an agency: these are people who have just heard you.
Can I run a Tipeee collection for an album and still use GigTag?
Yes. A collection on Tipeee is its own campaign, with supporters contributing to one project. GigTag carries on doing its job at gigs. You can add the collection's page to your GigTag links while it runs, so people who hear the songs live know where to back the recording.
Can fans add my summer residency to their calendar?
Yes. Weekly residencies are shown on your GigTag page, and a fan who scans the tag can add them to their calendar along with any one-off gigs. Gigs and residencies are on the free plan. For a seasonal run, the same tag stays on your mic stand all summer.
Looking for Tipeee itself?
This page is GigTag's. Tipeee's sign-in, prices, reviews and support are on its own site.
