GigTag for buskers
Fewer people walk past because they have no coins.
A busker's crowd gathers, listens and leaves in three minutes, and most of them carry no cash. A GigTag on your case or stand turns a nod and a smile into a tip, a follow or a request, and gives them a way to find you again.
- Tips by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay
- No app for passers-by
- One code, any pitch
The problem
The crowd that has nothing to give
Someone stops for the whole of your second song. They would like to give you something. They check a pocket, then their phone, and then the next song starts and they drift off with the thought still in their head.
The same crowd cannot hear which songs you have, cannot see where you will be on Saturday and has no way to ask you to play their cousin's wedding. A hat holds coins. It holds nothing else.
What GigTag does
One code, four jobs done for you
- Pro
Tips that work without cash
A scan opens a tip page. They choose an amount and pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, into your own Ziina or Stripe account. GigTag takes 0%.
- Pro
Requests that do not stop the set
Switch on open requests and people send a title from where they stand. You glance at the queue on your phone between songs and play what suits the pitch.
- Free
Be found again
Your page lists your music, your socials and the days you play. Add a weekly pitch as a residency and a listener can put it in their calendar.
- Free
A booking form for the people who ask
Every busker gets asked about weddings and parties, and the violinists and string players who start on the street are no different. The enquiry form takes the date, the place and the details, so you are not typing them into a DM with a guitar in your hand.
A night with GigTag
A Saturday on the high street
You set up at ten to two with the tag fixed to the amp where passers-by can see it, a small sign beside it that says scan to tip or request. By the third song a couple has stopped. One of them scans, sends a title and adds a tip on the same screen.
At 4pm you check the page. Three requests, two tips, one booking enquiry from a woman who wants someone for her mother's birthday. You answer the enquiry that evening, from the sofa.

Questions
GigTag for buskers: your questions
Do I need a licence to busk with GigTag?
GigTag does not change the rules of your city. Busking permits and pitch rules are set locally, so check yours. GigTag is the code on your stand, not a permission to play.
Can people tip me if they have no cash and no app?
Yes. They scan with the camera, open a page in the browser and pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. They do not install or sign up for anything.
What does it cost me to take a tip?
GigTag takes 0%. The payment provider you connect, Ziina or Stripe, charges its own card fees, which you will see when you connect.
I only busk sometimes. Is it still worth it?
The free plan gives you a page, your links, your gigs and a booking form. Add Pro for the weeks you want requests and tips, and change plan whenever you like.
